On 02/08/2010, the Salisbury Rowan FOP Lodge 87 held it's
bi-annual elections. There were three changes on the executive board
this time around. Lodge President Brian Cooper stepped down and became
the Immediate Past President. Cooper served as the Lodge 87 President
since it's inception in 2006. We thank him for all of his hard work.
He has helped to mold and shape Lodge 87 into the success it is today.
We thank you for your time and dedication.

Taking over the President spot of Lodge 87 is
Salisbury Traffic Officer Brad Jordan, who was the current State Trustee of
Lodge 87. Brad Jordan is an MPO with the Salisbury Police Department
and is assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Unit. Brad is a
Certified Instructor for NC and was awarded the Ernest and Candy Curtis Hero
award, by the Salisbury Civitans, for saving the life of a man who had went
into cardiac arrest.

The vacant State Trustee position will be filled
by MPO Christopher Schenk. Schenk worked for the Spencer Police
Department before making a move to the Salisbury Police Department a few
years ago. Schenk is currently assigned to the Drug Interdiction team
and is currently an applicant for the vacant Salisbury Police Chief job.

The other vacancy within Lodge 87 was the SGT at
Arms position. This spot will be filled by Salisbury PD Gang Officer
Suad Jakupovic. Suad has worked hard since coming to the Salisbury
Police Department and his hard work paid off with an assignment to the newly
formed Gang Unit of the Salisbury Police Department.
The remaining positions within the lodge were retained by the current person
in that position. They are as follows:
Vice President -
Patrick Smith, detective with the Salisbury PD
2nd Vice President
- Adam Bouk, Gang Unit Officer with Salisbury PD
Secretary - Todd
Sides, Detective Salisbury PD
Treasurer - Mat
Benjamin, MPO Salisbury PD
Chaplain - Jason
Robertson, MPO Salisbury PD
Due to Christopher Schenk's movement to State Trustee there is now a vacancy
within the Lodge Trustees. This will be filled by appointment from the
new lodge Secretary. We thank all the people who are officers of Lodge
87 for the hard work and dedication they have to the Law Enforcement
Community in Rowan County. |
